The 12th Century BC: A Time of Great Change
The 12th century BC was a period marked by significant events in various parts of the world. In Central and North America, around 1200 BCE, the first civilization developed in the coastal regions of the southern part of the Gulf of Mexico.
In ancient Greece, the Trojan War began around 1194 BC, according to the chronology of Eratosthenes. The Achaean attack on Asia Minor marked the beginning of this pivotal conflict. Over time, Troy was captured and destroyed by the Achaeans in 1184 BC. This period also saw the rise of legendary figures such as Aristomachus, son of Cleodai, who became king of Dorida.
In Assyria, around 1115 BC, a new era began with the start of the reign of King Tiglatpalasar I. The kingdom was ruled by various dynasties and monarchs, including Ashur-dan I and Ninurta-Tukulti-Ashur. In Babylon, the IV Dynasty saw notable rulers such as Nebuchadnezzar I and Elle-nadin-apli.

In other parts of the world, the ChavĂn civilization flourished in Peru from approximately 1200 to 400 BCE. This ancient culture is known for its impressive temples and sculptures, as well as its ceramic, wood, stone, silver, and gold objects. The Sahara region also saw the appearance of rock paintings featuring horses tied to two-wheeled chariots around this time.
