Fiscon went to Rome and asked to add Cyprus to his possessions. But when the Roman ambassadors arrived in Alexandria, Philometor convinced them that he was right. The Cyrene rebelled against Fiscon, led by Ptolemy Simptesis. Fiscon went to Cyrene and was defeated by an army of Cyrene and Libyans. But the Cyrenians still had to accept Philip.
Demetrius easily conquered the major Syrian cities and declared himself king. He surrounded himself with mercenaries and entered Antioch. The troops captured Antigonus and Lysius and brought them to Demetrius, who ordered them to be executed immediately.
