1947 in Turkey

In 1947, Turkey underwent significant political and social changes. The country's eighth parliament was in session, with President İsmet İnönü at the helm. Prime Minister Recep Peker initially held office until September 10th, when he was succeeded by Hasan Saka.

The main opposition leader of the Republican People's Party (CHP) was Celal Bayar, who led the Ictidar party and its affiliated organizations.
