The 1954-1955 Cypriot Second Division Season

The 1954-1955 Cypriot Second Division was the second season of the Cypriot second-level football league, with Nea Salamis Famagusta emerging as champions. This season took place from December 4, 1954 to June 12, 1955.

Eleven teams participated in this inaugural season, divided into three geographical groups based on their respective districts in Cyprus. Each group consisted of four teams that played against each other twice – once at home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season was crowned group champion, while the winners of each group competed against one another in a final phase to determine the overall champions.

The league format awarded two points for a win, one point for a draw, and zero points for a loss. This season saw several notable changes from previous seasons, including the promotion of Aris Limassol to the 1954-55 Cypriot First Division. Additionally, three new teams joined the competition: Alki Larnaca, Orfeas Nicosia, and PAEK.
