The 1957-58 Cyprus Football Championship

The 1957–58 Cyprus Championship was the 21st season of the top-level football league in Cyprus. Ten teams participated in the championship, with Anorthosis Famagusta FC emerging as the winner.

The tournament began on October 26, 1957, and was scheduled to end on May 25, 1958. However, due to events on the island that led to a dispute over Cyprus' status, the competition was stopped prematurely, with some teams still having one or two matches left to play. Despite this interruption, Anorthosis Famagusta's dominance in the league was well established, and they were awarded the title.

The championship was contested by 10 teams, including Apollon Limassol, which made its debut as a team that season. The scale used to establish the classification of the teams was based on points earned during the matches: two points for a win, one point for a draw (in case of zero matches played), and no points awarded for defeats.

The final standings were determined by the number of wins, draws, and losses accumulated by each team. Anorthosis Famagusta's victory in the championship was confirmed after they finished at the top of the table, ahead of Pezoporikos Larnaca and EPA Larnaca. The troubles over Cyprus that led to the interruption of the competition had a lasting impact on the league, as it ultimately ended with the cancellation of the 1958-1959 season.

The championship was marked by Anorthosis Famagusta's impressive performance, which earned them their third title in the history of the club. The team's success was a testament to their strength and determination, both on and off the pitch.
