Cypriot First Division 1963-1964

The Cypriot First Division 1963-1964 was the 26th season of the Cypriot First Division, which took place from October 19, 1963.

Background

Due to the inter-communal riots in Cyprus in December 1963, the Cyprus Football Federation decided on December 28, 1963, to stop the league. This decision was made due to the civil unrest that plagued the country at the time.

Changes from Previous Season

Compared to the previous season, 1962-63, the 1963-64 championship did not involve Orpheus Nicosia, who had been demoted to the Second-class division.

Abandonment

The 1963-64 Cypriot First Division championship was ultimately abandoned due to civil unrest in Cyprus at that time. Eleven teams had participated in the championship.
