1970/71 Cypriot First Division

The 1970/71 Cypriot First Division was the thirty-third football championship of Cyprus, featuring 12 teams competing for the top spot. The champion of this season was Olympiakos Nicosia, who won their third title in the league's history.

In contrast to previous seasons, where champions from Cyprus would participate in the Greek Super League, EMA Larnaca, the champion of the previous season, did not take part in the 1970/71 Greek Super League. Instead, Olympiakos Nicosia secured a spot in the European Champion Teams Cup as the league's top team.

The scoring system for this season was different from previous ones, with wins worth two points and ties worth one point, while defeats did not affect rankings. This change was notable compared to the 1969/70 season, where Diminigen Acrita Morfu participated in place of Mars, who had been demoted to the Second Division.

The league consisted of 12 teams that played each other twice – once at home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season was declared the champion. This system led to Olympiakos Nicosia's victory in this season.
