1982–83 Cypriot First Division

The 1982–83 Cypriot First Division was the 44th season of the Cypriot top-level football league.

Teams and Results

The first-class championship 1982–83 included 14 teams. All teams competed against each other twice, once at home and once away. A champion was declared the team that gathered the most points. The last two teams were demoted to the 1983–84 second-class championship.

Omonia won the championship for the 12th time in their history.

Qualification for European Cups

The league champions ensured their participation in the 1983–84 European Champion Teams Cup. In addition, the team that finished in second place ensured its participation in the 1983–1984 UEFA Cup.

The win was scored by 2 points and the tie by 1 point while the defeat gave no rank.

Changes Compared to the Previous Period

Compared to the 1981–82 first-class championship, the first two league teams participated in the 1982–83 championship. The teams that were promoted from the second class were Alki Larnaca and Mars Limassol.
