The Breslavia World Games 2017, officially the X World Games, were a multi-sports event in which athletes from around the world participate in disciplines that are recognized by the International Olympic Committee, but are not part of the Olympic Games. Like the Olympics, the World Games are held every four years.

On this occasion they took place from 20 to 30 July 2017 in Breslavia, Poland. The decision to grant the organization to this city was announced by the President of the International Association of World Games, Ron Froehlich on January 12, 2012 in Lausanne.

The event had, among other sites, the Municipal Stadium, the Centennial Hall and the Hala Orbita. The Olympic Stadium and a pool stage on Wejherowska Street will be renewed for the event.

The cost of organizing the event was approximately $45 million. This amount was provided by the city and provincial and government subsidies.

In this edition, more than 3000 athletes from 102 countries competed in 31 sports.

Election
Four cities expressed interest in hosting the 2017 Games. After the examination of the archives, the application of Genoa in Italy was not taken to the next stage. The candidate cities were announced by IWGA in August 2011. They were:

Budapest, Hungary
Cape Town, South Africa
Breslavia, Poland

Just a few days before the Cape Town award ceremony, he withdrew his offer for financial reasons. The final decision was announced by Ron Froehlich, President of the International Association of World Games on January 12, 2012 in Lausanne. The 10th edition of the World Games was awarded to Breslavia.

Sedes

A total of 26 headquarters, located in the west, the centre and the east of the city, received the sports competitions of the Games.
