CONIFA European Football Cup

The CONIFA European Football Cup is an international football tournament for states, minorities, stateless peoples, and regions unaffiliated with FIFA that have an affiliation to Europe. It is organized by CONIFA.

History

The first edition of the CONIFA European Football Cup took place in Hungary, where Padania won against Nice County 4-1. The second edition was held in Northern Cyprus, where Padania again emerged victorious, this time defeating Norrland 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

### 2022 CONIFA European Football Cup

The 2022 CONIFA European Football Cup is the planned fourth edition of the tournament. It was initially scheduled to take place in Nice, France from June 9 to 19, 2021, but was postponed due to technical problems with the draw ceremony on January 31, 2021. The new dates were set for July 7-17, 2021, but the tournament was eventually cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, in a later decision, the CONIFA Board of Directors announced that the tournament would be rescheduled and take place from June 3 to June 12, 2022. The event will serve as part of the qualification process for the CONIFA 2022 World Cup, with the top three teams automatically qualifying.

Format

The CONIFA European Football Cup features an international football tournament format, where participating teams compete against each other in a series of matches to determine the champion. The tournament is organized by CONIFA and is open to states, minorities, stateless peoples, and regions unaffiliated with FIFA that have an affiliation to Europe.
