2 Euro Commemorative Coins

The 2 euro commemorative coins are special European coins issued by the euro area Member States on the occasion of a historic anniversary or to celebrate or in honor of a modern event. They have legal effect and are normally used in transactions, but they have also become collectibles.

The first 2 euro commemorative coins were minted and issued by member states of the Eurozone since 2004 as legal tender in all member states of the Eurozone. As of January 1, 2023, a total of 475 varieties of coins had been issued.
