"2nd Men's National Football"
--- CONTENT ---
The league of professional football of the Second National League, also referred to as Football League, was timelessly the second division of Greek football. It was the third-class tier after the A2 National Championship (Super League 2) from 2019 to 2021. From 2021 the Football League merged with Super League 2 and its position was taken by the Third National.
It was created as a permanent regular category in the autumn of 1962 (although it existed as a Special Championship during the previous three years), placing on a new basis the structure of Greek football. Until 2018-19 it was consistently the second in order category. With the restructuring of the professional categories of Greek football in 2019 and the creation of the "new intermediate A2 National League 2)", the Second National (Football League) and the Third National Amateur Division, they were "relegated" to the third and fourth tier respectively. In 2020-21 it was decided to restructure the professional categories which provided for the merger of Super League 2 with Football League, effectively eliminating that category.
The league was held by the Association of Professional Football A2 and II National League (or Football League), under the supervision of the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO).
