Peloponnesian War: By a coup in Athens, the Council of Four Hundred under the leadership of Peisandros seizes power. They are trying to make peace with Sparta.
The battle of Syme between Athens and the Spartans allied with the Persians ends in a tie.
After Athens is defeated in the Battle of Kynossema, the Council of the Four Hundred is overthrown and democracy restored. Alkibiades is brought back to Athens.
The exiled Euagoras I returns with a band of followers to Salamis on Cyprus and overthrows Abdemon, who has ruled since 415 BC. The island remains under Persian sovereignty.
