902 TV was a private television station of nationwide range, owned by the KKE and housed within the party in Perisos in New Ionia. His name had been received from the show of the self-titled radio station.
History
902 TV first began operating in April 1990. His first broadcasts were conducted experimentally in February 1991, with transmissions from the 13th Conference of the JRC while transmitting a full programme from 1992. The station, although nationwide, never broadcast throughout the country, except in Attica, Thessaloniki, and in many major cities.
In 1993-1994 he obtained temporary leave, although a little late (along with the first SKai, today ALPHA) in relation to the other private nationwide channels after the 1993 parliamentary election.
Before the 2008 financial crisis broke out, the channel had begun to have major financial problems, of which it never recovered, resulting in a shutdown on September 10, 2012. Due to pressure to remove the licence it reopened on 8 January 2013. On 11 August of the same year, the channel was purchased by Cypriot company A-Orizon Media Ltd., Philip Vryoni interests who owns the Extra Channel, and a month later (11 September), was replaced by Epsilon TV.
Epsilon TV was sold on 11 August 2017 to also Cypriot company Dimera Media Investments Ltd. interests Ivan Savidis, to be replaced, in turn, on 24 October 2018 by OPEN BEYOND.
Programme
The program of ever party television channel included newscasts, informative shows, shows for theatre, Soviet and Polish children's production programs (Bolek and Lolek, Wolf and Rabbit), foreign production films (about the 1940 saga) and telesale shows.
Upon its acquisition by A-Orizon Media Ltd., 902 was converted exclusively into a telesale channel. Epsilon adopted the program of other major private stations, broadcasting newscasts at specific hours, Greek series, game shows and entertainment shows.
