Agia Marina Skyllouras (Gürpınar)
Agia Marina Skyllouras (; ) is a village in Cyprus, located in the district of Nicosia. De facto, Agia Marina is under the control of Northern Cyprus, and belongs to the district of Lefkoşa.
Physical Geography
The village rises 24 kilometers west of the capital Nicosia and 4 kilometers southeast of Dyo Podamoi/İkidere.
Origins of Name
The village took its name from Marina the monk, a holy Christian of Byzantine Syria. The name of the village was changed in 1974 to Gürpınar, meaning "powerful source".
History
After the Turkish invasion of 1974, the village is not controlled by the Republic of Cyprus. Until the middle of the years 2010, the village was used as a military base.

### Religious Architecture
In 2016, the reconstruction of the mosque of Gürpınar began, damaged by the earthquake of 1953.

A statue of Kemal Atatürk was erected on a nearby hill, the founder of modern Turkey.
