Alexis Ziras is a Greek literary critic, grammarian and translator.

Life Story
He was born in November 1945 in Athens.

He studied in the Economics department of the Law of Pan.Thessaloniki (1967-1971), as well as Balkan languages at IMGA.

He lived for long periods abroad and in particular Belgium (1957–1958), Austria (1960–61) and Switzerland (1962). He worked as a commercial and industrial business executive (1969–1974), and as a design consultant and producer of radio and television programmes at ERT (1982–1993).

At the same time, he worked as an epiphylidist in the journal Thessaloniki (1969–1976), a columnist and literary critic in the journals. Dawn, Kathimerini, Free Press. Author in the World Biographical Dictionary of Editorial Athens, in encyclopedia. Papyros-Laros Britannica and editor-in-chief (1992-1996) in the Modern Greek Literature Dictionary of Pataki publications.

Founding member of the Society of Writers (1982), board member (1984,1994, 1996, 1997, 1999) and its chairman (2009-2013). Member (1984 et seq.) and since 2013 Chairman of State Literature Awards Committees of the Ministry of Culture. Member of the Organizing Committee of the annual Poetry Symposium of Patras (2011 et seq.).
