Andreas Dionysiou Liveras (1935 – 26 November 2008) was a Cyprus-born British businessman of modest origins who rose to success in various industries.

Biography

Liveras was born as the first of nine children to a shepherd family in Kyrenia, Cyprus. In 1963, he immigrated with his family to London's Kensington district, where he initially worked selling pastries and driving a delivery truck for Fleur de Lys bakery.

Five years later, Liveras purchased the bakery company and expanded it into one of Europe's largest frozen cake manufacturers. He sold the company to Express Dairy in 1985, using the profits to establish his own business ventures.

Business Ventures

Liveras used his entrepreneurial spirit to start several successful companies. In Monaco, he founded Liveras Yachts, a yacht charter company that owned and rented luxury yachts for leisure activities. This venture was part of his broader interests in various industries.

In 1992, Liveras collaborated with his son Dionysios to launch Lauren Patisseries (also known as Laurens Patisseries) in London. The bakery later relocated to Newark-on-Trent in Nottinghamshire.

Personal Life and Citizenship

Liveras held dual citizenship of Britain and Cyprus throughout his life. He passed away on 26 November 2008, during the Mumbai attacks that year.
