Background

In the early hours of April 1, 1955, EOKA members launched simultaneous attacks on multiple British and related facilities throughout the island. This was accompanied by the distribution of leaflets across Cyprus, which served as a call to action for the Cypriot people against British rule.

Aftermath

Note: I've kept the original dates mentioned in the sources (April 1, 1955) as they are consistent across all sources. However, it's worth noting that the attack actually took place on the night of March 31 to April 1, 1955.
