"Athens E.P.S. Championship 1926-27"

--- CONTENT ---
The Athens Football Association Association Championship in 1926-27 was held in two phases, primary and final. They participated seven (7) teams and for the third consecutive year Panathinaikos was the winner, who tied to the final phase of the league with AEK and prevailed after two rankings.

Organisation
The event began in late November 1926 and ended on Sunday 19 June 1927 with the second PAO-AEK ranking match. The meetings were held on four courts, as in the pre-existing Panathinaikos and Goudi, those of Panhellenic and Apollo (in Rouf) were added from the summer of 1926.

Four other clubs joined the power of the EPSA: the Sports Association of Merchants, the Labour Sports Club, A.P.S. Pelops Melandia and P.A.Daphne of Athens, who formed the newly formed III category and raised the total number of members to 19. The active unions, however, were finally 17, since the Cyprus Football Association and the English Group did not participate in the league. A member also enrolled Achilles, who was disbanded before taking part in the Third Division.
The groups and system of conduct by category were as follows:
First class seven (7) teams in two-phase championship: one-round qualifier (6 matches) and final with 4 teams
Second class six (6) teams in a two-phase championship: one round qualifier (5 matches) and final two rounds with 4 teams (6 a.)
Third class four (4) teams in a two-round championship (6 matches).

Category 1
They participated 7 teams: Panathinaikos, Apollo Smyrna, AEK, Atromitos Athens, Athens A.S., Armenian Union and P.S. Goudi
Qualifying phase: single group of one round (6 matches), from which qualified the first 4 and reduced the jaw
Final phase: group of one round (3 matches), instead of two rounds as provided for in the event notice. Due to delays in the program (of many friendly matches with foreign clubs and between the mixed teams of Athens, Piraeus and Thessaloniki), the Union was obliged to cancel the second round and the title to be judged in a Panathinaikos-AEK ranking match tied.
Champion: Panathinaikos
Delegation to II: Armenian Union - eventually remained in the category due to the departure of AEK, Apollo and Panathinaikos
Rise from II: Aia Athens.

the PAO-Wudi race was postponed due to flooding on the earth. Panhellenic from rainfall and Goudi, with patients of some of its players, did not probably "down" to the repeat - the result of which, however, did not
