Winner

Pavel Nedvěd, a Czech midfielder playing for Juventus at the time, was awarded the Golden Ball on December 22, 2003. This marked his recognition as the best footballer in Europe according to a panel of sports journalists from UEFA member countries.

Voting Process

The voting process involved 52 experts from various UEFA member countries. These voters compiled a shortlist of 50 male players on November 11, 2003. Each voter assigned points to their top five choices: first place received 5 points, second place received 4 points, third place received 3 points, fourth place received 2 points, and fifth place received 1 point.
