Barbara Bonansea

Barbara Bonansea (born 13) June 1991 in Pinerolo is an Italian footballer who has been playing for Juventus Turin since 2017. She has played regularly for the Italian national team since 2012 and was voted Italy’s Footballer of the Year in 2016.
Career
Clubs
Bonansea joined the youth team of ACF Turin in 2004 and won the Italian Junior Championship twice in the following years. Already at the age of 15 she stood in the 2006/2007 season for the first women's team on the pitch and scored in six seasons in over 100 games 27 goals.
For the 2012/2013 season she moved to ACF Brescia. There, Bonansea won the Scudetto twice in five seasons, the Italian Championship, the Cup twice and the Supercup three times and became Italy’s Footballer of the Year in 2016. In a total of 117 games, she scored 61 goals.
In the summer of 2017 she switched to Juventus Turin free of charge. Bonansea made her debut against Atalanta and scored twice in the 3-0 away victory. Already in the first season of the club in Serie A, their team won the Scudetto, in the following season 2018/2019 even the double of championship and cup. Also the following three seasons in a row Juventus won the Scudetto.
National team
Bonansea debuted on the 5th. November 2007 in the U17 national team in the 6-2 victory against Belarus in the qualification for the European Championship 2008. In the following years she played 15 times in the U19 team of her country and scored seven goals.
On 19 September 2012 she was appointed for the first time in the goalless draw in Greece as part of the qualification for the European Championship 2013 in the A-national team and was in the starting eleven. However, Bonansea was not appointed to the squad for this tournament.
In qualifying for the 2015 World Cup, she scored seven goals in six games, including a hat-trick in the 15-0 home win over Macedonia. Italy was eliminated in the playoffs of Round 2 against the Netherlands.
In November 2016, Bonansea was selected for the International Tournament in Manaus from 7 to 18. Nominated in December, in which Italy lost the final against Brazil.
Bonansera was also in the squad of the Italian women at the European Championships 2017, but could not prevent the failure in the group phase.
Things went better for her and Italy at the 2019 World Cup, when Bonansea contributed both goals to the 2-1 victory over Australia in the first group match. She was used in all five games of this final round, but could not prevent the departure in the quarterfinals against the Netherlands.
Bonansea was also in the Italian squad at the European Championship 2022, but remained goalless in all three group games and lost victory with her team.
