**Kalyoncu Cabinet**
=====================

The Kalyoncu cabinet was the government of Northern Cyprus from 16 July 2015 to 16 April 2016.

**Composition**
---------------

The cabinet consisted of 10 ministers formed by a coalition between the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) and National Unity Party (UBP), under Prime Minister Ömer Kalyoncu from the CTP. The two parties shared the ministries equally, with all UBP ministers being Members of Parliament (MPs). Initially, three CTP ministers were not MPs, but this changed on 19 October 2015.

**Changes to the Cabinet**
-------------------------

On 19 October 2015, the cabinet underwent changes. Hasan Başoğlu, the Minister of Finance, was replaced by Birikim Özgür due to Başoğlu's request for removal from his post because of health problems. Önder Sennaroğlu, the Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Food, was replaced by Erkut Şahali. Aziz Gürpınar, the Minister of Interior and Labor, was replaced by Asım Akansoy.

**Background**
-------------

The Kalyoncu cabinet was formed as a result of a coalition between the CTP and UBP, which was established with the National Union Party. This marked the first time that these two parties had formed a government together in the history of Northern Cyprus.
