Bible archeology is an academic supplement and a subset of Bible studies and Levanten archeology. The Bible archeology, the former Near East and especially the Holy Territories (also known as Palestine, Israel Earths and Kenan), examine archaeological sites from Bible times.
The Bible archeology was revealed in the late 19th century in order to verify the historicality of the Bible by British and American archaeologists. In the leadership of names such as Ernest Wright, Levanten became dominant American economist. Studies are mostly funded by churches and managed byologists. Since the late 1960s, the Bible archeology was influenced by the processical archeology ("New Archaeology") and has encountered problems that cause research to push religious aspects into a edge. This led American schools to move away from Bible studies and to focus on the archeology of the region and the relationship with the Bible text rather than to prove or rot the narrative in the Bible.
The Hebrew Bible is the main source of information about the Palestinian region and mainly covers the era of Iron Age. Therefore, archeology can provide information that the Bible history spell cannot be provided. A comparative study of Bible texts and archaeological discoveries helps to understand the ancient Near Eastern people and cultures. Although both Hebrew Bible Book and New Testament are taken into account, the majority of work focus on the first.
