Boğazköy, Cyprus

Boğazköy (Turkish: Boğazköy) or simply Boğaz (Turkish: Boğaz), is a village located in the Kirenia district of Northern Cyprus.

Geography and Administration

The village is situated east of Agirda in Cyprus. It is part of the municipality of Kyrenia, which is an accident of law under the administration of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Demographics

According to the statistical service of Northern Cyprus, as of 2011, the population of Boğazköy was 1,943 inhabitants.

History and Status

Boğazköy was established in the 1960s as a Turkish Cypriot village. De facto, it is under the control of the unrecognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
