Costas Kadis
Early Life and Education
Costas Kadis was born on 30 August 1967, in Nicosia. He studied at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where he obtained a degree and PhD in biology. He also attended special postgraduate programs at the Mediterranean Agricultural Institute of Chania on Ecology issues of the Mediterranean Landscape, at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens on topics of Teaching of Natural Sciences, and at Cornell University on Finance Research Management by the State.
Career
Kadis has worked as a graduate associate and postdoctoral researcher at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He also served as a scientific consultant at the Enalion Centre for Environmental Management of the Cyprus Development Bank. In addition, he was appointed to be a member of the Research Promotion Foundation.
Political Career
Kadis has held various ministerial positions in the Cypriot government. From 2018 to 2023, he served as Minister for Agriculture, Rural Development and the Environment. Prior to this, he was Minister of Education and Culture from 2014 to 2018. He also briefly served as Minister of Health from July 2007 to February 2008.
