Faculty of Vineyarding

The faculty of wine gardening is one of the first two faculties in the establishment of the Agricultural University in Plovdiv as an independent university in 1950. It is unique in Bulgaria and Southeast Europe. During its 65-year existence it has imposed itself as an authoritative and integral part of the Agricultural University with its specific and unique appearance.

Five specialized profiling departments are operating in the faculty. , Gardening , Ovoshtarism , Mechanization and Mechanization and Geodesy .

The teaching and scientific work of the faculty is carried out by 45 academic staff, of which 3 professors, 21 docs, 11 chief assistants, 10 assistants. Of them, doctors of sciences The work of academic staff shall be supported by 15 staff, experts and specialists.

The training in the first degree of Bachelor is carried out in the following specialities:
Agronomics (Lozaro gardening)
Agronomics (Tropical and Subtropical Agriculture)
Agronomy
Agricultural engineering
Agronomics (Decorative gardening)

Since its founding, over 10,000 students have been trained in the specialty of Vineyard, over 2,000 students in the specialty of Agronomy (Tropical and Subthorpe Agriculture), over 400 students in the specialty of Agricultural Engineering. The number of students trained in the latest specialities of the Faculty of Agronomy (Hydromeliorations) is also small.

Good traditions have been established in the preparation of Bulgarian and foreign PhD students. The number of trained and protected Bulgarian PhD students is over 40. Foreign PhD students are more than 25, mainly Bangladesh, Benin, Guinea, Greece, Egypt, Ethiopia, Yemen, Iraq, Cyprus, Cuba, Nigeria, Syria, Slovakia, Sudan, Uruguay.
