Gencay Kasapçı (9 March 1933, Ankara - 29 November 2017, Mersin), Turkish painter and sculptor.

Life
9 March 1933 was born in Ankara. Dad Bulgarian immigrant chemistry teacher Vicdani Ataseven is the mother of Istanbul Şaziment Ataseven. The mission of his father was born in Balıkesir between 1936-1939. In 1939, the determination of his father was settled in the Kuzguncuk district of Üsküdar.

In 1944, Kuzguncuk Marko Pasha Primary School finished Üsküdar Peanut Tree Middle School in 1947. The artist, who started to do with the picture three years, was named among the first 20 students, who sent the esim teacher to the exhibition opened across Turkey at the Faculty of Language and History Geography. She graduated from Istanbul Schoolgirl in 1950.

In 1954, Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts completed its High Painting with superior success. Later in Ankara University studied classical archeology for a year in the Faculty of Language and History-Coğrafya.
He opened his first exhibition at Art Sevenler Association in Ankara in 1957. In 1959, with the scholarship issued by the Italian Hükûmeti, Florence has been working in the areas of frsk and mosaic with Prof. Collacichi in the Florence Academy. He remained in Rome between 1960-65 and founded his own workshop here.

For some time Arnoldo Mondadori Published stories and designed Gianna Manzini’s Barka d’Noe book cover.

During the time stayed in Rome, he opened his first overseas solo exhibition. Cenova opened exhibitions in galleries in Gubbio, Rome, Venice and Milan.

He returned to Turkey in 1966 and married Abdullah Kasapçı. Between 1976 and 1983, in Ankara, Vakko Art Gallery’s counseling and administrative duties were carried out.

In 1994, with the request of the Ministry of Culture, Mersin made the "Purity Monument" to the Peace of Cyprus. The flying bird figures on Mersin Adnan Menderes Boulevard on 270 cm diameter on the "Purity Monument" were renewed with the grounds damaged in 2014, meanwhile the ceramic bird figures were removed and replaced by Turkish flag. The monument has shown a lot of cut reactions, including a new depositor. On top of this, Mersin Metropolitan Mayor Burhanettin Kocamaz wanted to renew the monument in accordance with the noble. The Monument of Freedom was reopened in 2015 with a new ceremony on the Ismet İnönü Boulevard.
