George Christodoulidis is a Greek poet and journalist. He was born in Moscow, Soviet Union in 1968 and grew up in Larnaca. She works as a journalist in Nicosia.

Life Story

George Christodoulidis was born in Moscow in 1968 and grew up in Larnaca. He studied journalism at the University of Lomonosov, Moscow (MA in Journalism). He has published 8 poetry collections.

For his first poetry collection, Enia, (Editions Ateleia, Nicosia 1996) was awarded the New Literary State Award, while for the second, Dreammill (Gabrielides, Athens 2001) with the State Poetry Award. Followed the Farmer Manual (Govosti, Athens 2004), The Unrealized (Gabrielides, Athens 2010) and the Road between Heaven and Earth (Farfullas, 2013).

In 2021, a hundred poems by Christodoulides, drawn from a poetic course of 25 years, were translated into English and released in the United Kingdom and other countries, by Armida Publications.

In February 2016 he was released by the Ink Publications, Athens, his sixth poetry collection, Wounded regions/Nude Stories, which that same year was translated into French by Michel Volkovitch and released in France by the publishing house Le miel des ang.es. It was presented in Paris in May 2017. The same collection was translated and published in Serbian (ed. residence Treći Trg) by Aleksandra Milanovic and was presented in Belgrade in October 2018.

In 2019 his 7th poetry collection of Mystic People, Kyma publications, Athens was released, while in early 2020 the 8th entitled Lightly Thrilled, Pikremos publications, a cooperative tetralogy along with poets Sotiris Pastakas, Antonis Skiathos and Vangelis Tasiopoulos, which was presented in February of the same year in Thessaloniki and the French Cultural Centre of Larissa.

In 2019, his poem "Species of First Need" from the "Manual Grower", Govostis 2005, translated into German by Michaela Prinzinger was included in the European Poetry Anthology "Grand Tour" - March 2019. The edited by the Anthology commissioned by German Academy for Language and Literature to the poets Jan Wagner and Federico Italiano.

In 2018 he edited with Panayiotis Nikolaides the "THELOGY OF CYPRUS POWER 1960-2018" published in November of the same year by the publications "wave", Athens.

In September 2018, 10 of his poems were translated into Spanish by José Antonio Moreno Hurado, 5 of whom were included in the anthology of the ARS POETICA 1 poetry festival, held in Patras.

In Spring 2018 Palestinian poet Najwan Darwish translated 10 poems by Christodoulides which were published in the Panaravian newspaper Alaraby.
