George Paboridis is a Greek Cypriot politician and lawyer. He was Minister of Health of Cyprus.
Biographical data
George Paboridis was born on 10 January 1969 in Nicosia. He studied law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He continued with graduate studies (L.L.M.) in naval law at the University of Southampton. He then obtained a master's degree (M.Sc) in law from the London School of Economics' Department of International Relations. He then obtained a Ph.D. in law from the University of Southampton in public international and naval law.
He is a registered lawyer in Cyprus, Greece, England and Wales. Initially he worked at Tassos Papadopoulos & Sia law firm, then at the Holman, Fenwick & Willan law firm in England and then at L. Papafilippou & Sia law firm in Nicosia, as a partner, for five years. In 2003 he founded Pamboridis LLC with offices in Nicosia and Athens. It deals mainly with merger and acquisition issues, Corporate Law, International Tax Planning and Energy Law. In addition, he taught International Naval Law and Energy Law at the Law School of the University of Cyprus.
He has authored the books International Shipping Law: Legislation and Enforcement (Kluwer Law International publications) and Hydrocarbons of the Republic of Cyprus, and many legal articles.
He is married to Galatia Havuzari-Paboridis and has three children.
Path Policy
On 27 July 2015 he was appointed Minister of Health to the government of Nikos Anastasiades, a position in which he remained until 28 February 2018.
