Biography
Giuliano Falciglia was born in Salemi at the beginning of the 15th century and very young entered the convent of Sant'Agostino of his birthplace and then moved to Padua in 1419 to continue his studies, where he became a pupil of Paul from Venice and John of Cyprus. He was then transferred several times: in 1422 to Siena and two years later to Bologna, where he was elected as a descriptor of the order of the sicula island during the general chapter of 4 July 1430 held in the convent of Montpellier.

He was appointed a sentiential baccelliere in Padua where he taught theology in the two years 1430-32. He was appointed regent of Rimini and member of the general prior of the order during the council of Basel, replacing him in office since 1443. He remained until 1459 prior general of the Augustinian Order. This office was renewed several times in the various general chapters of the order held in Bourges 1441, Ferrara (1451) and in Avignon (1455) remaining presumably in office until his death, so that the successor Alexander Oliva was elected only on May 12, 1459. The date of his death that the Perdini indicates as on May 20 is therefore not considered exact, but it is assumed that he may be deceased by the first decade of May. In this long period, due to his serious health problems, since 1448, Alessandro Oliva of Sassoferrato became his successor.

The psalm was buried in the Augustinian convent of Messina.
