Bishop Gregory (Ioannis Hadziuraniu, 25 February 1968, Larnaca) is Bishop of the Cyprus Orthodox Church, Bishop of Mesaori, Vicar of the Archdiocese of Cyprus.

Biography
He was born on February 25, 1968 in Larnaca, Lapit province of Cyrene.

He attended a course of lectures for catechists in the organization of the Greek Church of the Apostolic Diakonius (1986-1987), lectures on paleography and epigraphy at the Institute of Education of the National Bank of Greece in Athens (1988-1991).

In 1990 he graduated from the Theological Faculty of the University of Athens. From 1989 to 2000 he worked at the Department of Patrology of the Theological Faculty of the University of Athens as a researcher.

In 1992, the Orthodox Center of the Patriarchate of Constantinople in Chambesy, a suburb of Geneva, listened to a seminar “Methods for confronting the Church with the ecological problem.”

In 1993, he attended a course of lectures on methodology, history and theory of science and a seminar on computer science in theology at the University of Athens.

From 1992 to 2000 he worked as a catechist in the Archdiocese of Athens and was the head of the student hostel of the Ili Metropolia in Athens.

In 1994 he graduated from Selly Oak College at the University of Birmingham, and in 1996 he graduated from the University of Athens, where he received a master’s degree in theology for his dissertation on “Structure and Hermeneutics in the words “On the Beatitudes” of St. Gregory of Nyssa.”

In 2000, he returned to Cyprus and, still in the rank of layman, was appointed by Archbishop Chrysostomos I of Cyprus as a preacher of the Archdiocese of Cyprus. From 2001 to 2008 he worked in the secondary education system of Cyprus and taught at the gymnasiums of Nicosia.

He was ordained deacon on 6 May 2001 and presbyter on 24 March 2002.

On July 20, 2004 he was elevated to the rank of Archimandrite and appointed a confessor.

He took part in conferences on theology and Byzantology, where he made reports on scientific topics. The researches and articles of Archimandrite Gregory have been published in collective works, scientific journals of the Patriarchate of Alexandria and the Church of Greece. He is an employee of the Logos radio station. He represented the Church of Cyprus at meetings and scientific conferences both in Cyprus and abroad.

On 21 March 2008 he was elected vicar bishop of the Archdiocese of Cyprus with the title of chorebishop of Mesaoria. The episcopal consecration took place on March 30, 2008 in the Church of the Blessed Virgin in Palluriotisse, Nicosia.
