Use
Holy Miro is used in the sacrament The anointing that takes place in the Orthodox Church immediately after the Holy Baptism, the newly baptized is anointed with holy peace-breededed with the words "Sing the Spirit of Saint God." Through the Baptism, the believer becomes a member of Christ's Church, and through the sacrament, the Miropomation receives the graceful gifts of the Holy Spirit. At first, this was done by the apostles, but it was soon replaced by the anointing of the apostles, about which St John of God wrote.

In the early Christian church, Miropomation has a wider use . Later, anointed not only the chief priests but also the prophets and kings.

With holy peace God commanded Moses to anoint the tabernacle, Aaron and his sons for God's service.

Right of Mirovarene
The right to prepare Holy Miro has only the autocephalous Orthodox churches, as is the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. In its latest history, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church prepared for the first time oil in 1950 after 5 years earlier its autocephalia was recognised by the Ecumenical Patriarchate. The first Bulgarian Patriarch in the latest history, Kiril Bulgarian, brewed miro in 1961, and Patriarch Maxim made the sanctifications of holy peace in 1974, 1988, 1995 and 2002. The sixth miroration in 2002 was performed to bless the millennium. The seventh mirorage was in April 2009. The eighth Mirovarene in the history of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church was in April 2018.

Unlike the Russian Orthodox Church, the Church of Greece continues to receive oil from the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople to testify its historical relationship with the patriarchate. The same applies to the Polish Orthodox Church, to the Orthodox Church of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, as in recent times to the autocephalous Church of old Cyprus. The Orthodox Church in America is seen as autocephaly and sanctifies its own peace.

The Ecumenical Patriarchate insists that she is the only one entitled to purveyance, so she invites archieres from the various churches to participate in her mirarvaination, and then gives of the oil to those churches that recognize her exclusive right. It is believed that receiving Holy Miro is a sign of dependence on the church that gives the oil.
