Robert Hunter Biden

Robert Hunter Biden is an American lawyer-turned-artist and businessman. Born on February 4, 1970, in Wilmington, Delaware, he is the eldest son of Joe Biden, the 46th President of the United States.

Hunter Biden's early life was marked by tragedy when his mother, Neilia, and sister, Naomi, were killed in a car accident in 1972. He and his brother Beau suffered serious injuries but survived. The family later encouraged their father to remarry, and Jill Jacobs Stevenson became their stepmother in 1977.

Hunter Biden attended the Catholic high school Archmere Academy in Claymont, Delaware, before graduating from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 1992. He then continued his education at Yale Law School, where he received a doctorate in law and began working as a consultant for a credit card bank, earning over $100,000 per year.

In 1996, immediately after graduating from Yale, Hunter Biden became senior vice president of the company. However, commentators noted instances of nepotism, with one commentator stating that "many children of influential parents get good jobs." Despite this, Hunter Biden continued to rise through the ranks and eventually departed from his job at MBNA in 1998.

In 2001, he co-founded the lobbying firm Oldaker, Biden & Belair. The same year, he was hired as a consultant by MBNA, earning an annual retainer of $100,000. However, it is worth noting that some have raised concerns about nepotism and Hunter's involvement with various business ventures.

One notable example is his role as a founding board member of BHR Partners, a Chinese investment company, in 2013. He later served on the board of Burisma Holdings, one of the largest private natural gas producers in Ukraine. This position has been the subject of controversy and scrutiny during the Trump administration's dealings with Ukraine.

Hunter Biden is also an artist and has showcased his work publicly. However, it appears that he has largely stepped back from his law career to focus on his artistic pursuits.

In 2020, Hunter Biden announced his candidacy for a seat in Delaware's U.S. Senate, but ultimately withdrew due to personal reasons. Despite this, his name continues to be associated with various business ventures and controversies surrounding the Trump administration's dealings with Ukraine.
