History
The Generation Change is a centre-left Cypriot political movement, founded on October 30, 2019. The leader of the movement is Anna Theologou.
### Founding and Early Years
The Generation Change movement was initially founded under the name "Independents" as a political platform with the participation of independent MP Anna Theologou, who had left the Citizens' Alliance in 2018. In November 2020, just before the 2021 legislative election, the Independents announced their cooperation with the Movement of United Cypriot Hunters, with the participation of its executives on the ballot papers.
### Name Change and Election Results
Due to friction regarding the name of the combination, following a relevant opinion from the Attorney General, the cooperation between the two parties ended in April 2021. The movement was subsequently registered as a political party based on the law on political parties, changing its name to "Generation Change". In the 2021 legislative election, the Generation Change received 2.82% of the popular vote, failing to elect a MP.
Electoral Results
In the 2021 parliamentary elections, the Generation Change movement failed to win any seats in the House of Representatives, despite receiving 2.82% of the popular vote.
