Iolkos Publications was founded in 1961 by journalist – writer Giannis Koridis. At the same time, the publication of the literary magazine Iolkos, with collaborators such as Nasos Vagenas, N.G. Pentzikis, I.M. Hatzifotis, Triantafylos Pittas, Dinos Siotis and many other well-known creators began. Among the titles published in the early years include: Martin Luther King – the Leader, The great trials of the centuries, The trial of Christ, Poetry Anthology 1930-1965.
Discrimination
Throughout the years of the total presence, books of the publications "Iolkos" have been awarded with State Awards, Athens Academy Awards, etc. In 2003 the Hellenic Society of Christian Letters awarded the publishing house "Iolkos" as the best publishing business for 2002. In 2015 they received the "Public" Award – in the category "Essay, Study, Biography, Testimony" – with the book "Is There a God?" by F. Diakomanolis and in 2016 received the Cyprus State Tale/Nouvelas Award – for publications of the year 2015 – with the book "Stories of Famagusta" by D. Leventis. In 2017 they received the EBGE Book Cover Award for the book "Screaming with Kazantzakis" by M. Paulenaki (Artistic edited by Giannis Karlopoulos, Cover Design: Dimitris Kourkoutsis, Lettering: Vassilis Georgiou. In 2020 they received the "Moni Koumandarea" Award for the collection of short stories "The Caucasuss", by George Thanos.
In the production of Greek prose books for 2001 they held 10th place with 2.6% market share (7.6% the first) and for 2003 again 10th place with 2.4% market share (7.5% the first).
In 2008 Iolkos publications were included in the 13 greatest publishers of literature, the 11 greatest publishers of a Greek novel and was the 3rd largest publishing house of poetry based on the National Book Center Book Production Survey.
Iolkos publications are consistently included in the first ten publishing houses with the largest production in new poetic titles.

Poetry Series
Hundreds of poetic works and collections – classical and contemporary creators – have been published and included in the series "Poetry" since 1961.
History Series
It has 23 titles of books, independent of each other and is mostly about modern Greek history (Greek Revolution 1821, Asia Minor Disaster, Greek Occupation, Civil War and Seven Years). It is based on personal testimonies-narrations and historical studies – research-documents. Writers are usually protagonists of events being processed or scholars-researchers.
War and Strategy Series
