Biography
He took part in the Crusade organized by Jean Fearless, Duke of Burgundy, against the Turks, which ended in defeat at Nikopol in 1396.
Queen Giovanna II of Anjou is looking for a husband and the choice falls to Jacques. He arrived in Naples in 1415 and married her, and was crowned co-manager of the Neapolitan Kingdom. After four years, Jacques tries to subdue the kingdom to himself and become a sovereign king, but when he fails, he returns to France.
In 1428 he took part in the war against the English and was appointed Governor of Langedoc.
In 1435 he denied worldly life and became a Franciscan monk in Besanson, where he died after three years.
