Location
Kellaki is a village located in the Limassol District of Cyprus, situated approximately 10 km north of Parekklisia. The village borders Prastio (Kellaki) to the west, Eptagonia to the north, Parekklisia to the south, Sanida to the southeast, and Klonari to the northeast.
Population
According to the statistical service of the Republic of Cyprus in 2001, the village has 270 inhabitants. At the census in 2011, it had 299 inhabitants.
Name
The name "Kellaki" comes from a small convent cell of an ascetic built on a rock in the area. Another version connects the name of the village with the cells of “Rigaina”. The village's name is derived from its history and geography.
Geography and Climate
Kellaki is located at an altitude of about 600 meters, approximately 28 kilometers northeast of Limassol. The village covers an area of approximately 9.25 square kilometres.
Economy
The village produces a variety of crops, including tomatoes, apples, peaches, pears, and nectarines.
History
The first written mention of the village dates back to Frankish times.
