Leonidas Lapathiotis (1854 – 1942) was a Greek military man.

Life Story
He was born in Corinth to a father of Cypriot descent, the officer of Theocharis Lapathiotis Constabulary, who came from Lapithos, Cyprus. His grandfather was the previous Hatzielias executed by the Turks in Nicosia in 1821. He joined the Greek Army reaching the rank of lieutenant general. He participated in the Greek-Turkish War of 1897 as a staff officer of the Army of Epirus, and served as the head of the Ministry of Military Affairs. In 1903 he was elected MP Tyrnavu, replacing (31 May 1903) the resigned G. Rodopoulos., while participating for a few months in the Kyriakili Mavromichali government as Minister of Military (1909). On Venizelos government he was suspended and imprisoned for a few days. He eventually retired (1911) but returned to the Balkan Wars in 1912. In 1916 he followed Eleftherios Venizelos to Thessaloniki and was promoted to lieutenant general. That same year he was sent to Egypt to organize a body of Greek volunteers for the government of National Defence. He also taught as a mathematician at the Polytechnic and the School of Hopes.

He died in Athens in January 1942. He was married to Vasiliki Papadopoulou, a member of the Trikoupi family, and had had a son, the poet Napoleon Lapathiotis. He lived since 1903 in Exarchia in the Lapathiotis house.
