The Limassol Provincial Football Federation (EPOL) is a football federation of Limassol Province. It is one of 11 rural (local) federations of members of the Confederation of Local Federations of Cyprus (STOK), three of which are based in Limassol.
History
Establishment
EPOL was founded on May 18, 1956, with the main purpose of keeping sport away from intolerance and fanaticism, so that there would be a better perspective on agricultural football in Limassol Province. Main aims set in the charter of the newly formed federation were:
Cultivation in general and dissemination in the society of the fan spirit and eu fight and especially the dissemination and spread of football sport in the villages and districts of Limassol and Limassol.
The moral and spiritual elevation of athletes and the cultivation of gentle chisel and solidarity, cooperation and friendship between athletes and between unions.
The goals set by the federation could be prospered by organizing and performing football championships, by conducting track, basketball and other sports games, as well as regular contact and cooperation between sports clubs.

First years
Although the newly formed federation was embraced by several and powerful sports associations of the city and province of Limassol, in the early years it was characterized by dystocia. One of the major problems was the not-so-good financial situation of unions that forced them many times to take part in the games without the appropriate sports material. Also, at that time due to the complete indifference of the British colonial administration, the few stadiums that existed were all in poor condition. Transportation was rudimentary, many moved on bikes or even on foot, and communication was very difficult. In these difficult circumstances, the federation's officials and friends tried to overcome any problems. The referees that the federation had at its disposal were few and were very difficult to move to arrive at in time before the start of a scheduled race.
All the above made it very difficult to conduct championships and even more difficult to spread the sport in the province, especially in the most remote areas. All the province's sports clubs participated in the federation's first league and claimed victory in the event with claims.
