This list of well-known families extinct from the French nobility brings together the extinct French noble families benefiting from a genealogical article on Wikipedia. It should be noted that it mixes families that were members of the French nobility before 1789 with families that were annoyed, confirmed noble, or titrated to the .

The records are in the form of Name (date 1 - date 2), where date 1 is the male year of extinction and date 2 is the female year of extinction (when later). The form (date 1 - ? ) or ( ? - date 2) indicates that one of the two extinction dates is unknown. When the form is Name (date), the date is that of male and final extinction, the female extinction being then anterior. Italic extinction dates are presumed dates. The fragile dates are accompanied by two question marks.

The records must give the province of origin and the principle of nobility of each family with its date. Any entry must be accompanied by a source. Only authentic titles (granted by letters patent, duly registered and transmitted online agnatic) can be included in this list.
