The Men's Pan-provincial Basketball Championship (originally and Pan-Hellenic Basketball Championships II Division) the Special Championship is a basketball event which is applied to qualify for the province's teams in the 3rd National League championship. It is essentially a qualifying championship, which takes place after the end of the season and includes mainly champion teams of smaller Associations or Local Basketball Committees, especially the Dodecanese, Cyclades etc.

As an institution, it was applied from the beginning of the 1960s, qualifying groups all over Greece for the 1st National. After the creation of the Second National Championship in 1973, the Pan-provincial Championship operated as a qualifying group for the rise in its second straight basketball league. In recent years he has been limited to providing upcoming tickets for the Third National League.

The champions in the early years
1962: It was described as "Panhellenic Championships II Category", with champion A.O. Pancratiou was promoted to the First Athens Division of 1962-63.
1963: It was not carried out due to restructuring (Creation of a National League).
1964: The tournament was held during the last week of December 1964, with the participation of six teams: Panionios and A.O. Pagratios as representatives of Athens, PAOK and Aetos Thessaloniki from Thessaloniki and E.A. Patras and Olympiad who had qualified against G.S. Agrinio and Talota Chania from the championship of the local committees SEGAS, which had preceded. PAOK (undefeated) and Pankrati won the two "courts" of climb in the 1st National League.
1965: H.A.N. Nikaia, Anatolia Thessaloniki. They also participated: Panionios, Eagle Thes., Panachaiki, EAP and was held at the Panathinaikos Stadium in the last week of September 1965.
1966: Amyntas Athens, Panhellenic GS, Eagle of Thessaloniki, HANTH (in its qualifying phase, which began on 28 October 1966 in Patras, also participated, the teams Niki Volos, E.A. Patras, Olympiad Patras and Star of Corfu. Participation in the tournament had initially been stated by Colossus Rhodes, who eventually retired. The first two of the final rankings would take part in the "special league" of Thessaloniki. The latter began on 11 November in "Palet de Sports" with the participation of the teams Panhellenios, CANTH and Olympiad Patras.
1967: Olympiacos, Panionios
1968: It was held in Volos (they participated 6 teams) from 24 July to 28 July, the rise winning AO Niar East and Hercules Thessaloniki.
1969: It was held in two phases. Initially at Agrinio (start on 12 July) with three groups whose first two teams passed to the Finals, which took place at the Panathinaic Stadium with the participation of seven teams, as a "Special Championship".
