Mercedes-Benz W462, also known as Mercedes-Benz G-Klasse, is an all-terrain SUV vehicle of the German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz. It has been constructed since 1979, almost unchanged aesthetically, with only gradual improvements in its technological background, equipment and active and passive security. However, in recent years only the version of special services has actually prevailed on the market. The various forms for private use, typically continue to be manufactured, but in very few quantities and are available only on special order.

It has also been released in six-wheel versions 6x6 (6-wheeled with two rear axles), but with extremely high sales prices.

In Greece it is manufactured by ELVO as a military series Mercedes-Benz W462 in the 240GD/24 models (1.25 tonnes) and 290GD/28 (1.5 tonnes). To date 10,000 vehicles have been built (and 250 rightfully for the Cyprus Army) in various variants, such as: Transporter of personnel/load (the most common version), Management Vehicle, Ambulance and Armament Agency.

In particular in Greece, they replaced the oldest Willys M38A1, Ford M151A1 and Volkswagen Type 181.
