The secondary school is a secondary school in Kardzhali. The school is also called the School of Champions and is the largest in South Bulgaria. The motto of the school is The school's mission is to provide quality education.

History
The school was opened in 1984, becoming 38 years since its establishment. The opening of the first ESU corps is on September 17, 2 months before the celebration of the first patronage holiday. The first director is Mitko Dimov, led by Tsvetan Trangov, Valentina Dimitrova and Bojana Earnings as deputy directors, 81 teachers and 2555 students and support staff. The symbol of the school, UPKO, is an idea of the artist Ivan Iliev, and in 1991 he produced a model of owl The school is a business card not only of Kardzhali but also of Bulgaria.

The current principal of the school is Milko Baghdad. The modern building has 65 classrooms, 12 office for school subjects such as Bulgarian language and literature, mathematics, foreign languages, history, music, biology, physics and others, STEM center, 2 computer halls, 2 gyms, 2 act halls, UPCO bar, dining room, media center, library, euro corridor, dining booth and medical offices. About 1650 students with pedagogical staff, consisting of 151 members and non-pedagogical staff, consisting of 39 members, are trained at the school. The school also has eco-trails.

SCHOOL! CONCURY! The author of the motto is Dobrina Kamburova, a longtime mathematics teacher at the school.

Upco: The symbol of the school is an owl called UPKO.

Uniform: Entered in 2009 A uniform for the whole school was introduced in 2021.

Honorary statuette: Made by artist Nedim Mustafa, teacher at the school. It is served by a student, teacher or guest to raise the prestige of the school.

Events
The school organizes events unique to it annually:

Opening of the school year: The national flag is raised to the sound of the anthem of Bulgaria. Celebrities are invited, musicians and others. The school flag is being met. The beginning of the school year is marked by the ringing of the first bell.

Kardzhali Day: The school participates with from a block of students in the community procession where the banner group, the company and the portrait of the school are leading.

Day of the People's Buddhists: There is a procession with torches involving students and a tour of a specific route, including the central part of the city, its main streets and graduates at the school. Portraits of the people's Buddhists and of the school's patron as a tribute. A commemorative celebration is held in front of the monument of Vasil Levski in the city center.

Cartridge holiday: It is held annually on 17 November (birthday of the school patron)
