Monika Siegfried-Hagenow (* 1952 in Bergneustadt) studied art history, German studies, pedagogy and social pedagogy in Cologne and Bonn. She works as a freelance journalist and documentary filmmaker. She has also published travel guides, illustrated books and nonfiction books and was awarded the Civis Media Award in 1994 and 1999.
In 2011 she received the Medtronic Media Award (1st prize).
