Grammy Awards 2007

The 49th award of awards for best musicians in the US, was held on February 11, 2007 in Los Angeles. Big winners at night emerged Dixie Chicks, with five awards. This is the first time since 1993, that someone won the best album, recording and song awards overnight. Then this feat was realized by Eric Clapton. The first appearing artist award was won by Carrie Underwood.
2007 Brit Awards
The 27th award ceremony for Britain's best pop musicians, took place on 14 February 2007 at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London. The host of the evening was Russell Brad. The artist's award of the year was received by James Morrison and Amy Weinhouse in the categories of men and women respectively, while a better band emerged the Arctic Monkeys. The corresponding categories for the international music scene were won by Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado and The Killers.
Eurovision 2007

The 52nd night of the competition took place on 10 and 12 May 2007 in Helsinki. This withdrawal from Finland was made thanks to the victory of her representative band, the Lordi, at the Athens Competition the previous year. The winner was Serbia who was represented by Marija Serifovic and the song “Molitva” (“pray”) which took 268 points.
Mad Video Music Awards 2007

The fourth award of the MAD music channel was held at the Melina Mercouri Rock Theatre in Hymettus, on 25 June 2007. The awards concern the modern Greek repertoire and are awarded on the basis of the public vote. Michael Hatzigiannis left the award ceremony having won four awards among which were those of the Best pop video clip and Best video clip of the year for "Everything or Nothing". Helena Paparizou received two awards, those of Best video clip from female artist for "Gigolo" and Best dressed artist on video clip. Despina Vandi and George Mazonakis won the Best Video clip award from a duet for "Amanet". The best video clip directing award was received by Kostas Kapetanidis for Despina Vandi's "Carlada". Kostas Martakis was the winner in the category of Best video clip by first appearing for "Yes".
