Early Life and Education
Olga Kefalogianni (Greek: Όλγα Κεφαλογιάννη) was born on 29 April 1975, in Athens, Greece. She is the eldest of three daughters to Ioannis Kefalogiannis, a former Member of Parliament and Minister, and Eleni Vardinoyannis, a lawyer. Her father's family has a significant history in Greek politics, dating back to the 19th century Cretan revolutions, the Balkan Wars, and the National Resistance.
Kefalogianni graduated from Athens College in 1992. She later pursued higher education, obtaining a Master of Laws (LLM) in Commercial Law and Business at King's College in London in 1998.
Career
Kefalogianni has been a member of the New Democracy party since her election to the Greek Parliament in 2007. In June 2012, she was appointed Minister of Tourism by Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, serving in this position until 2015. She held the same position again from 27 June 2023.
Personal Life
Kefalogianni comes from a prominent family with significant business and political connections. Her mother's side is related to the Vardinoyannis family, known for their business interests. Kefalogianni's father, Ioannis Kefalogiannis, was also a Member of Parliament and Minister.
