Pano Dikomo (; ) is a village located in Cyprus, situated approximately halfway between Nicosia and Kyrenia. The village is under the de facto control of Northern Cyprus.

Geography and Administration

Pano Dikomo is part of the commune of Dikmen, which is a Cypriot Turkish municipality. However, according to international law, it belongs to the district of Kyrenia of the Republic of Cyprus. The village is located eight kilometers south of the city of Kyrenia, on the southern slopes of the Pentadaktilos mountain range.

History

Prior to 1974, Pano Dikomo was inhabited exclusively by Greek Cypriots. Following the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, the village came under the control of Northern Cyprus. In 1975, the Turkish Cypriots changed the name of the village from "Dikomo" (meaning "two houses") to "Dikmen", which means "conic choline".

Population

According to the 2011 census, Pano Dikomo has a population of 416 inhabitants.

Physical Geography

The village is situated on the Kyrenia-Lefkoşa road and is part of the municipality of Strutn (Upper Strutn), which is connected to the municipality of Cyprus Republic of Northern Cyprus. The territory of the community belongs by law to the Republic of Cyprus, while de facto it is under the control of Northern Cyprus.
