Background
The Tassos Papadopoulos government was the 10th government of Cyprus, serving from 28 February 2003 to 28 February 2008.
Emergence and Election
Tassos Papadopoulos emerged as President of the Republic of Cyprus after the 2003 presidential election, in which he won with 51.51% of the votes. He succeeded the Government of Glafcos Clerides (1998) and had the support of AKEL, DIKO, EDEK, and the Ecologists Movement.
Installation
The installation ceremony of Tassos Papadopoulos took place on 28 February 2003 at a special session of the House of Representatives. The next day, the ministers were announced and gave their renewed assurance.

### Changes in 2004
In April 2004, the Minister of Transport and Works, Kikis Kazamia, resigned due to disagreements about the referendum on the Annan plan. George Lilikas temporarily took office alongside his deputy.
Mandate History
The Papadopoulos government was formed as a result of the presidential election of 2003. It was supported by a centre-left coalition between AKEL, DIKO, and EDEK, which initially held 56 seats (58.9% of the total) in the House of Representatives.
Tassos Papadopoulos succeeded President Glafcos Clerides' second government, which had been formed and supported by a coalition between DISY and EDI, to which EDEK originally belonged.
Election
In the first round of the presidential election, Papadopoulos won with 51.5% of the votes cast, defeating his opponent.
