Cyprus competed at the 2015 Balkan Closed Athletics Games in Istanbul, Turkey on 21 February 2015. In the Championship 7 athletes, 5 men and 2 women, took part in 5 events.
Cyprus participated for the second consecutive time in its recent history winning 4 medals, 2 gold and 2 silver, all of which were from men. He finished 5th out of 15 countries on the medal table under Croatia and raised 43 points in total, 35 in men and 8 in women.
The Cyprus team scored a National record at 800 meters with Christos Dimitrios who performed 1:49.30 and won the silver medal. Demetrius improved by 21 cm a record of just a few days, that of Theophanis Michaillas that occurred on 31 January 2015 at the Vienna International Meeting Closed Athletics (Indoor Track & Field Vienna) in Vienna with a performance of 1,49,51. Notable is that Michailas in Vienna broke a record that lasted fifteen years, that of Kostas Hatzimarkos, held at the Panhellenic Championships of Closed Athletics in Piraeus on 19 February 2000, with a performance of 1:50.13, with the Cypriot athlete being out of competition.
Cyprus won the first gold medals in the event with Milan Trajkovic and Nikandros Stylianos in the 60 metres with obstacles and the short jump respectively. With these medals and the two silver medals of Christos Demetrios at 800 meters and Amin Hadiri at 1500 meters the country reached 6 total in the event.
