Petar Argirov

Early Life and Career

Petar Argirov (, 19 February 1923 – 16 November 1989) was a Bulgarian footballer.

Club Career

Argirov began his career in Botev (Sofia). In 1944 he was attracted to Levski, Sofia. Two years later, he and the club won the Republican Championship and the National Cup.

In early 1947 he moved to Locomotive (Sofia) and played there for the next 10 years. In his first season with the club triumphed in the elite Sofia division, where in two years he recorded 25 games with 8 goals. In 1948 he won with the iron workers and the national bowl. In the tournament he scored a total of 7 goals, including two hattricks.

International Career

Between 1947 and 1955 he recorded 17 matches with 2 goals for the national team.

Ski Racing and Coaching Career

Along with his career as a footballer, Argirov was also an alpine ski racing athlete. He became chief of the Sofia Slalom district as a member of the railway company. After the end of his racing career worked as a football coach.

Olympic Participation

He competed in the men's tournament at the 1952 Summer Olympics.

Personal Life and Legacy

Argirov was a club legend of Locomotive (Sofia). He also played for Botev (Sofia), Levski (Sofia), Miner (Pernik) and September (Sofia).
